Built by Mt. Prospect.
Run by volunteers.
Since 1983.
The Mavericks are a community-based travel baseball program in Mount Prospect, Illinois — serving ages 8U–14U with dedicated coaches, play in the most competitive leagues in Chicagoland, and a culture that puts community before trophies.
Skills + character.
We're committed to teaching baseball — and growing young athletes with strong values and life lessons. Representing our community. Doing service work that matters.
A community-based travel program, competitive enough to play in the most competitive leagues in Chicagoland — grounded enough to make sure every kid leaves a better teammate, neighbor, and person than when they joined.
40+ years on the diamond
A few of the milestones that built who we are today.
A program is born
The Mavericks form as a community-driven travel program in Mount Prospect — built by volunteers, for the kids of the area.
A culture takes shape
"Culture first, competition always." The Mavs become a fixture at Friendship Park, compete in the most competitive leagues in Chicagoland, and lean into service work — representing Mount Prospect on and off the field.
Eight teams strong
Eight Mavericks teams spanning 8U through 14U, year-round training at CENTRAL in Mount Prospect, and an automatic bid to the Cooperstown Dreams Park Tournament for every 12U squad — a tradition families remember forever.
Board of Directors
Every dollar raised by the Mavericks goes back into the teams. Every leader here is unpaid — and that's the point.
Better together.
The Mavericks are an affiliate of the Mount Prospect Park District and call CENTRAL their year-round training home, with a guaranteed path to the ITB High School travel teams for our 14U Mavs. We play in the GCBL and MSBL leagues out of Elk Grove Village.
